NPFL wrap-up: Plateau, Akwa record big wins but Enyimba, El-Kanemi play out stalemate

Reigning champions Plateau United annihilated Sunshine Stars 5-0 in week seven of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Tosin Omoyele was the star of the game, thanks to his brace and two assists. Sunday Ingbede, Emeka Umeh, Mafeng Pam also found the back of the net.

Akwa United maintained their grip at the top of the table with an emphatic 4-0 defeat of Wikki Tourists.

Ubong Friday, Victor Mbaoma, Michael Ibeh and Christian Pyagbara scored for the Promise Keepers, who have now won five, lost one and drawn one of their seven league matches so far.

MFM FC suffered a 2-0 away defeat to Kano Pillars; Junior Lokosa and Ibrahim Alhassan were the net shakers.

Heartland earned their first win of the season following a 2-0 result against Kwara United.

Goals from Abiodun Thompson and Nnamdi Egbujor ensured the Naze Millionaires increased their points tally to seven from seven games.

Lobi Stars beat FC Ifeanyi Ubah to claim their fourth win of the 2018 NPFL season thanks to a lone goal from Esosa Igbinoba.

Oche Salefu scored the only goal of the game with a late spot-kick as Rivers United pipped Go Round FC 1-0 in Port Harcourt.

El-Kanemi Warriors were held to a goalless draw by Enyimba in Maiduguri. The Desert Warriors were frustrated by an excellent defensive performance by the visitors.

Katsina United returned to winning ways by cruising to a 2-0 triumph over Niger Tornadoes while Abia Warriors and Enugu Rangers played a goalless draw at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
