NPFL: Plateau beat Nasarawa to maintain 5-point gap above MFM

Plateau United on Wednesday defeated Nasarawa United 1-0 to remain atop the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table.

Emmanuel James scored the only goal of the fixture from the spot in the 62nd minute.

Second place MFM FC defeated Duke Udi’s Sunshine Stars 2-1 at the Agege Stadium with Tchato Giscard and Stephen Odey getting on the scoresheet for the Olukoya Boys while Ajibola Otegbeye scored Sunshine’s only goal.

At the Cathedral in Enugu, Rangers pipped FC IfeanyiUbah 1-0 in the oriental derby with the only goal scored by Ifeanyi George in the 34th minute.

Rangers are now 12th on the table with 35 points.

ABS had to rely on a late goal from Samuel Oyedeji in the 89th minute to cancel Rabiu Ali’s 54th minute goal to share the spoils with Kwara United in Ilorin.

At the UJ Esuene stadium in Calabar, Enyimba thrashed 10-man El Kanemi Warriors 4-0.

Enyimba are now third on the NPFL table with 41 points while El Kanemi dropped from second to fifth with 40 points.

In other games played, Gombe United defeated Abia Warriors 2-1 at home, Katsina United beat Niger Tornadoes 1-0, also at home.

Wikki Tourists pipped Lobi Stars 1-0 in Bauchi while relegated bound Remo Stars drew 2-2 at home with Akpa United.
