NPFL: Rangers remain bottom as MFM return to the top

Remo Stars on Wednesday compounded the woes of Rangers, the defending champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League champions, by forcing them to a 1-1 draw.

Rangers took the lead in the first half of the game but failed to stop Remo Stars from equalising in the second half.

The Enugu-based team remain bottom of the league with 13 points from 13 matches.

MFM of Lagos continued their home invincibility as they overcame Abia Warriors 2-1 in Lagos with the goals coming from top scorer, Stephen Odey, and Sikiru Olatunbosun.

Odey scored the first goal, his 13th of the season, in the fourth minute of the game, while Olatunbosun doubled the advantage in the 29th minute.

Sunday Adetunji scored Abia Warriors’ lone goal in the 84th minute.

The victory saw MFM return to the top of the league, one point ahead of Plateau United who secured a goalless draw against Rivers United in Port Harcourt.

Victor Alegbe’s last minute goal for Wikki Tourists secured a 1-0 victory against Enyimba as Shooting Stars eked out a 1-0 victory against El-Kanemi Warriors.

ABS home match against Gombe United ended 1-1.

Sunshine Stars were in top form against Katsina United, beating their visitors 2-0 with FC IfeanyiUbah securing a 1-0 home triumph against Niger Tornadoes.
