Shooting Stars of Ibadan defeated Kano Pillars 1-0 in their matchday nine encounter to go joint top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) log.

A 55th-minute goal from Kareem Ayinde was the sole difference in the game, which was held at the Lekan Salami stadium on Sunday.

The victory sent 3SC among the triumvirate of clubs leading the league this week.  3SC have garnered 17 points from nine games, comprising five wins, two draws, and two losses.

The Oluyole Warriors are only adrift of Doma United and Lobi Stars due to inferior goal difference.

In Gombe, Doma defeated Plateau United by a lone goal to climb to the summit of the league.

Andrew Majalisa scored the winning goal for the Savannah Tigers in the 22nd minute at the Pantami Stadium on Saturday.

The Tigers lead the pack with 17 points and a superior goal difference of +5 over Lobi and the chasing bunch.

In Aba, Lobi fell away to Enyimba 1-0 on Sunday. The defeat saw Lobi relinquish their monopoly on the top of the league.

The Stars are also on 17 points, with their +4 goal difference placing them in second between Doma and Shooting Stars.

Other results: Sporting Lagos managed a one-all draw at home against Heartland FC, while Akwa United defeated Remo Stars in a five-goal thriller at the Eket Township Stadium on Sunday.

Rivers United earned a 2-1 victory over Abia Warriors, and Enugu Ranger fired blank against Katsina United at home.

Bendel Insurance and Kwara United slugged out a 2-2 draw, Gombe United defeated Niger Tornadoes 1-o, and Bayelsa United played a stalemate with Sunshine Stars.
