Makama, Onuwa, Bashir… TheCable’s NPFL team of the week

As is the case every other week, some players in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) shone brighter than others.

Here are the players who made TheCable’s team of the week.

Emmanuel Nasamu [MFM FC]

A player in form, he was unafraid to leave his line and made several outstanding saves including Seka Pascal’s spot kick. Commanding.

Abdullahi Ferinyaro [MFM FC]

Along with his fellow defenders, he held off the hosts all afternoon with ease. Imposing.

Emmanuel Anyanwu [Kano Pillars]

He grew in influence as the game wore on. He was uncompromising. Solid.

Austin Opara [MFM FC]

He was unruffled and made several important interceptions when needed. Impressive.

Emmanuel Makama [Nasarawa United]

Ruled the left flank and consistently supplied sublime crosses. He was rewarded with two goals. Outstanding.

Chukwuka Onuwa [MFM FC]

The midfielder controlled the game with his bravery, speed and touch which were too much for the opposing side to cope with. Made the run for MFM’s only goal. Sterling.

Anthony Omaka [Sunshine Stars]

Omaka held the midfield together with his resilient character. Dependable

Julius Emiloju [MFM FC]

Played all over the midfield. He was always ready to bring the ball forward with precision and skill. Awesome.

Thomas Zenke [Nasarawa United]

Pushed forward at every opportunity and was relentless in the hounding of his opposite numbers. Persistence.

David Tyavkase [Lobi Stars]

He consistently bamboozled Yobe Desert Stars’ central defensive duo with his speed of thought and movement. His fabulous goal was a reward for quality play. Unrelenting.

Abdulrahman Bashir [Enyimba]

He recognised the dynamic of the game, changed the flow and scored one goal. Playmaker.
