Some shocking results were recorded in matches played in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.

Here’s an overview of how events unfolded.

Enyimba 2-1 Sunshine Stars 

Former league champions Enyimba edged Sunshine Stars 2-1 at the UJ Esuene Stadium.

Enyimba went in front through Stephen Chukwude but the visitors equalised through Ifeanyi Anaenmena’s own goal.

To make up for his own goal, Anaemena came up with a winner for the People’s Elephants.

Kwara United 0-1 Rivers United

A late goal from Osita Chikere handed Rivers United a 1-0 result at Kwara United. The home side failed to match pre-match words with a convincing display.

Enugu Rangers 1-1 Kano Pillars 

Junior Lokossa grabbed a late equaliser as Kano Pillars came from one goal behind to draw 1-1 with Enugu Rangers to move top of the NPFL table with 17 points. Godwin Aguda scored for the Flying Antelopes.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah 1-0 Nasarawa United

Seka Pascal netted from a scramble to hand FC Ifeanyi Ubah a 1-0 win over Nasarawa United in Nnewi.

Wikki Tourists 1-1 Katsina  United 

Katsina United came from behind to draw 1-1 with Wikki Tourists in Jos.

Tourists took the lead in the first-half through Shammah Tanze but the Changi Boys equalised late on through Martins Usule.

MFM FC 0-0 Lobi Stars 

MFM FC failed to score for the first time in Agege this season as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Lobi Stars.

Yobe Desert Stars 2-0 El-Kanemi Warriors 

Yobe Desert Stars continued their impressive home run in the NPFL with a 2-0 win over Elkanemi Warriors.

Niger Tornadoes 2-0 Abia Warriors 

Niger Tornadoes moved level on points with Sunshine Stars as Ibrahim Babawo and Bolaji Adeyemo both scored in a 2-0 victory against Abia Warriors in Minna.
