Kano Pillars’ Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) play off dream remains on course after they defeated El-Kanemi Warriors 2-1, while Gombe United were slayed 2-0 by Akwa United.

Warriors quickly found themselves in a difficult situation, as Gambo Muhammed knocked in from close range in the 8th minute.

David Ibuka doubled the deficit on the hour from a similar distance. Bello Kofarmata reduced the deficit from the penalty spot.

Akwa United continued their surge on the standings by swatting aside struggling Gombe United 2-0.

Cyril Olisema made the breakthrough after 74 minutes from the spot.

Wisdom Fernando wrapped up a fast break with a composed finish beyond Emmanuel Daniel to double the advantage.

A stubborn Delta Force team picked a 0-0 draw against troubled Yobe Desert Stars.

Niger Tornadoes’ bid to avoid relegation was dented as Wasiu Jimoh’s early goal gave Rivers United a deserved 1-0 home win.

Seka Pascal scored the only goal as 10-man Enugu Rangers pipped Katsina United 1-0

Abdullahi Musa spared Wikki Tourists’ blushes with a late header in the 2-1 victory over Remo Stars at the Pantami Stadium.

Wikki deservedly held a half-time ahead, with Issa Gata rounding off a lovely move with a clever finish.

The visitors’ pressure told after the break, however, with Victor Chidume equaliser.

Musa nodded home in the 90th minute off a lovely Ukeme Williams’ freekick.

A second half effort from Shamsudeen Hashimu was all that Kwara United needed to beat MFM FC 1-0.

The other two games finished goalless, as Bendel Insurance and Heartland held their respective hosts Enyimba and Plateau United.
