NPFL wrap-up: Kwara United edge Enyimba as Heartland shock Nasarawa

A total of 18 goals were scored in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) games played on Sunday.

There were impressive wins for Kwara United, Heartland and Plateau United.

Kwara United 3-2 Enyimba

The most entertaining game took place at the Kwara Stadium Complex, where Kwara United hosted Enyimba.

United edged past the People’s Elephants 3-2.

Wikki Tourists 2-1 Niger Tornadoes

Wikki Tourists held off a late challenge from Niger Tornadoes to win 2-1.

Aminu Ahmad and Abba Umar were on the score sheet as the Giant Elephants went two goals up.

Tornadoes pulled one back through Ismaila Sarki in injury time.

Remo Stars 1-1 Bendel Insurance

Top flight returnee Bendel Insurance earned an impressive 1-1 draw against Remo Stars.

Charles Omokaro silenced the home fans before Victor Mbaoma restored parity for the Sky Blue Stars.

Nasarawa United 0-1 Heartland

Heartland stunned Nasarawa United 0-1, the second consecutive win for the Naze Millionaires.

Nwoshiri Samuel sliced through the Solid Miners’ defence to hand his team maximum points.

Plateau United 2-0 El-Kanemi Warriors

El-Kanemi Warriors lost for the first time this season as they were beaten 2-0 by Plateau United at the Kwara Stadium Complex.

Kada City 2-1 Gombe United

Debutants Kada City began life in the top flight on a high with a well deserved 2-1 victory over Gombe United.

Umar Mohammed and Sadiq Suleiman fired the hosts to victory at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.

Newly signed striker Ibrahim Enesi netted for the Savannah Scorpions.

Kano Pillars 1-1 Akwa United

Akwa United played a 1-1 draw at Kano Pillars in a pulsating game.

Ndifreke Effiong opened the scoring for the Promise Keepers with his first goal of the season, with Chris Madaki heading in the equaliser in the 41st minute.

Go Round FC 0-0 FC Ifeanyi Ubah

There was nothing separating Go Round FC and FC Ifeanyi Ubah in Omoku.

Both sides settled for a 0-0 draw in the tension-soaked battle.
