It was a good matchday eight for Enyimba, MFM FC, El-Kanemi Warriors, Plateau United and Kwara United who won their matches.

Group A

MFM FC 3-2 Niger Tornadoes

Kenedinum Chuks’ late strike capped a dramatic 3-2 win for MFM FC against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.

Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side trailed to Abishiya Peter’s early opener and Osondu Jonathan’s effort at the Agege Stadium.

But Olawale Abisoye got one back for the Olukoya Boys and Michael Ohanu equalised.

That set the stage for Kenedinum to score with a blistering blast in stoppage-time.

The Olukoya Boys maintained top spot in the Group A table with 15 points from seven games.

Enyimba 1-0 Remo Stars

Chukwuka Onuwa’s late goal proved decisive as Enyimba pipped Remo Stars 1-0 in Aba.

Kwara United 1-0 Wikki Tourists

Kwara United maintained their unbeaten home record with a 1-0 win over Wikki Tourists. Segun Alebiosu sent goalkeeper Ibrahim Pius the wrong way from the penalty spot in the first half, which was enough to give the home side all three points.

Group B

The NPFL matchday eight 8 produced eight goals at the different match venues.

Kano Pillars 3-1 Yobe Desert Stars

Rabiu Ali, Chinedu Sunday and David Ebuka were on song as Kano Pillars coasted to a 3-1 victory in a one-sided game against Yobe Desert Stars.

Pillars, inspired by Ali, were far too strong for their opponents.

Ali swept Pillars ahead with a brilliant free kick in the 28th minute. Chinedu doubled the lead 10 minutes later. David Ebuka registered the third goal before Philip Auta scored a consolation.

Heartland FC 1-1 FC Ifeanyi Ubah

FC Ifeanyi Ubah maintained their impressive run on the road with a 1-1 draw against Heartland FC at the Okigwe Township Stadium. Chijioke Alaekwe rose highest to head home a trademark cross from overlapping Chinonso Udeh in the 54th minute to cancel out Joshua Akhabue’s curtain raiser.

El-Kanemi Warriors 1-0 Abia Warriors

Elkanemi Warriors recorded a tight 1-0 win over Abia Warriors with Innocent Gabriel scoring in the 78th minute of play.

Plateau United 1-0 Go Round FC
