NPFL wrap-up: No away win as Abia Warriors beat Enyimba

A total of nine goals were scored in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matches played on Wednesday.

Shooting Stars 0-0 Gombe United

The home fans left the stadium in anger after Shooting Stars played a goalless draw against Gombe United at the Adamasingba Stadium.


Rangers 1-0 Katsina United

Chukwuebuka Okorie’s 57th minute strike was the difference between Rangers and Katsina United in Enugu.

Dakkada 2-0 Kwara United


Emmanuel Ayaosi and Etido Dan’s goals gave the Uyo-based side all the points against Kwara United at Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Kano Pillars 0-0 Akwa United.

It was a goalless affair between Kano Pillars and Akwa United.

Nasarawa United 2-0 Heartland


Chinedu Ohanachom and Abubakar Abdulahi’s goals were all Nasarawa United needed to get the three points against Heartland in Lafia.

Abia Warriors 2-1 Enyimba

In the Oriental derby, Abia Warriors recorded a 2-1 win over Enyimba, with Yakubu Hammed scoring the opener for the home side in the 30th minute.

Valentine Odoh doubled the lead for the home side in the 37th minute before Pascal Eze netted a consolatory goal for Enyimba towards the end of the first half.


Remo Stars 1-0 MFM

Remo Stars pipped MFM 1-0 in the south-west derby with the only goal scored by Sikiru Alimi in the 3rd minute.


On Thursday, Wikki Tourists will take on Sunshine Stars. Rivers United will also square it out against Lobi while Plateau United will face Niger Tornadoes to complete the mid-week matchday 21 games.
