Matchday nine games in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) took place on Wednesday and Thursday which saw Remo Stars record their first win of the season.

Group A

Niger Tornadoes 0-0 Enyimba

Niger Tornadoes played out a 0-0 draw with Enyimba at the Bako Kontagora Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Sunshine Stars 1-1 Bendel Insurance

Bendel Insurance earned a valuable point away from home when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Sunshine Stars.

Despite being on the back foot for most of the match, the Benin Arsenal opened the scoring through Junior Osaghae, but the Owena Whales found the equaliser through Anthony Omaka.

Remo Stars 2-1 Kwara United

A brace from Mathias Ogwuche ensured that Remo Stars picked their first victory of the season as they won 2-1 against Kwara United.

Yobe Desert Stars 0-0 Plateau United

Yobe Desert Stars failed to score as Plateau United held on for a 0-0 draw in Damaturu on Wednesday.

Heartland 1-1 Gombe United

On Thursday, Gombe United left it late to draw 1-1 at Heartland.

Chidiebere Ajoku saw his opener cancelled out by Chigozie Maurice at injury time.

Abia Warriors 1-1 Akwa United

The match of the round lived up to it billing with Abia Warriors sharing the spoils with Akwa United. The match ended 1-1 in Umuahia.

Defender Ozor Chinedu prodded home the opener before NPFL record goalscorer Mfon Udoh helped the Promise Keepers rescue a point with the equaliser.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah 1-0 Elkanemi Warriors

Emmanuel Ugwuka was the hero as he struck the solitary goal for FC Ifeanyi Ubah who pipped Elkanemi Warriors 1-0.

Go Round 1-1 Nasarawa United

Nasarawa United were forced to a 1-1 draw by Go Round at the Kridera Hotel Stadium.

Ikechukwu Nwani silenced the home fans in Omoku with a stunner. Adeseun Adelani spared his team’s blushes with a 42nd minute leveller.
