The Edo command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested one Sani, a self-confessed Boko Haram suspect.

Makinde Ayinla, NSCDC commandant in the state, said the suspect was arrested in the early hours of Saturday within the premises of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

“Our men deployed to guard the premises of the NTA arrested suspect after he was spotted twice loitering between 2 am and 4 am,” Ayinla said.

“Nobody knew how he gained entry into the premises.”

He said Sani also claimed to be a member of another group that “specialises in robbery, kidnapping, murder and selling of human parts”.

When asked to lead the NSCDC officials to the group’s hideout, he was quoted to have said that “only God can lead any person there”.

The commandant said the suspect has been handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) in the state.
