Nuhu Aliyu, a former senator representing Niger north, is dead.

Ahmed Matane, secretary to the Niger state government (SSG), said Aliyu died on Wednesday after a brief illness.

Mutane said Abubakar Bello, Niger governor, suspended the state’s weekly state executive council meeting in his honour.

“We must take solace in the fact that from God we all come and to Him we shall all return. Nobody shall live longer than the time appointed by Almighty God,” the SSG said in a statement.
