Shina Olukolu, Gombe commissioner of police, says Ephraim Ajuji, a nurse, who was abducted by hoodlums in the state has been released.

On Tuesday, Ajuji was reportedly abducted by suspected criminals at about 3:30am in Dadin-Kowa community, located in Yamaltu-Deba local government area of Gombe.

But Olukolu told NAN that the nurse was released on Wednesday after “persistent pressure from security agencies”.

He said: “Due to persistent pressure from security agencies, led by police operatives, the victim was released very early this morning.”

Mary, who sustained a machete cut on her head during the attack, said the kidnappers threatened to kill her father if the ransom was not paid.
