Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, says former president Olusegun Obasanjo never sees good in other people.

Idowu Adelusi, his chief press secretary, quoted Fayose to have said this to journalists on Saturday after visiting Abdulsalam Abubakar, former military head of state.

The Ekiti governor advised Obasanjo who’s celebrating his 80th birthday to emulate Abubakar who was working for the unity and stability of the country.

“Former President Olusegun Obasanjo must take a cue from somebody like General Abdulsalam Abubakar who are working for the unity and stability of the country,” he said.

“President Obasanjo must behave like a true statesman. ‎His major weakness is that he does not see anything good in other people or what they do except what he does himself.”

Earlier in his remarks, Abubakar congratulated Fayose on his election as the chairman of the PDP governors’ forum.

The former military president, while commending Fayose for the various developmental projects being executed in Ekiti, said democracy needed a virile opposition to thrive and make progress.

He added that he had been reading about Fayose’s activities as a leading opposition figure in Nigeria.
