Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is set to preach as Love of Christ Generation Church (LOC) holds its 15th anniversary in Lagos.

Speaking during a press conference on Wednesday at the church in Victoria Island, Esther Ajayi, founder of the LOC, said the event will also mark one year of opening the cathedral.

Ajayi said God has performed wonders and fulfilment in the church and for members over the years, adding that the “anniversary would be gloriously powerful”.

Highlighting the programmes, she said the anniversary would start on Friday, September 2, with nine-hour marathon praises.

The LOC founder said the praise hour would witness gospel singers like Mike Abdul, Big Bolaji, Bidemi Olaoba, Prince Wemimo Taiwo, Psalmos, Radical Praise, Tony Sax and Segun Praise.

“We are having double celebrations for us. We thank God for what he has done in my life” she said.

“They will be praising the Lord and testifying His goodness.”

She said the chairman and church workers at different departments would gather on Saturday to discuss family issues and how they have been enjoying working with God in the last one year at the cathedral.

“On Sunday, September 4, 2022, at the first year cathedral opening thanksgiving, former President Olusegun Obasanjo will be preaching and it will be gloriously powerful,” Ajayi said.

“A lot of people have been telling me they have been looking towards Obasanjo’s preaching the gospel. He has preached before at my church in London. So you will see him live and direct here in Nigeria.

“I am looking forward to having everyone. It is an open invitation. Don’t be afraid that you don’t have an invitation. Come and celebrate with us. Personally, I will welcome you into His presence.”

The reverend mother added that Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife, would be the royal father; while Nike Akande, former minister of industry, and Hafsat Oduwole-Tafawa Balewa, chairperson, Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone, will be the special guests of honour.

Last year, Obasanjo, Enoch Adeboye, general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ooni of Ife attended the unveiling of the church in Lagos.

Ajayi had said the mission of the church is to provide a spiritual environment for people to worship God.
