Former Nigeria president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has appealed to the electorate to repeat the March 28 presidential election voting pattern during the governorship and state assembly elections on Saturday.

Obasanjo, who has endorsed the re-election bid of Ibikunle Amosun, was speaking on Saturday during a visit to Itoku market in Abeokuta south local government area of the state.

Encouraging the traders to participate in the April 11 election, he said he came to the market to check on them.

“Since I came back from Abuja, I have not come here to say hello to you,” he said. “But, it occured to me that I can do it during this Easter period and that is why I have come. How is business?”

At the end of his tour round the popular market, Obasanjo told journalists that as a member of the community, he came to celebrate Easter with the traders.

“I have come to do two things. I have come to give them Easter greetings and to find out how they are doing,” he said.

“This is my community. As a member of the community, I want to know what is going on and what is happening in the community.”

Responding to a question relating to the forthcoming election, Obasanjo urged the people to vote the same way they did on March 28.

“They should do exactly what they did last Saturday,” he said.
