Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo, has forwarded the names of 11 commissioner nominees to the state assembly for confirmation.

The development was announced by Osarodion Ogie, secretary to the state government, in a statement issued on Tuesday.

This is coming 10 months after Obaseki was inaugurated as the governor of the state for the second time.

Obaseki had dissolved the state executive council ahead of his inauguration.

On November 12, 2020, Obaseki and Philip Shaibu, his deputy, were sworn in for their second term in office.

Since the inauguration, Obaseki has failed to set up his cabinet — a development that has sparked reactions from many stakeholders in the state.

According to the secretary to the state government, Obaseki has now forwarded the names of the commissioner nominees to the state house of assembly.

The governor also appointed Crusoe Osagie as the special adviser, media projects, and Sarah Esangbedo Ajose-Adeogun as a special adviser, strategy, policy, projects and performance management.
