Super Eagles forward, Osaze Odemwingie, is remaining a Stoke City player for at least one more season.
Odemwingie signed a new one-year deal at the Britannia Stadium, and the contract also holds the option for another year should the club wish to trigger it.
The 33-year-old missed the majority of last season with a serious knee injury sustained in the 1-0 win against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on August 30. He returned to action on April 25 in a 1-1 draw with Sunderland and subsequently appeared in the last five games of the season.
Stoke’s chief executive Tony Scholes was elated while announcing the contract signing.
“We’re delighted to announce that Peter has extended his stay with us at the club until the summer of 2016,” he said.
“He suffered an unfortunate injury last season after making a big impression immediately after joining the Club.
“Peter has worked incredibly hard to battle back from this to regain full fitness.
“He’s a popular figure not just in the dressing room but with club staff and supporters so we are thrilled to keep him on board this season.”
However, Odemwingie will face a stiff test to retain a regular place next season with the arrival of Xherdan Shaqiri.
