The £2.25 million transfer of Osaze Odemwingie from West Bromwich Albion to Cardiff is being investigated by the English Football Association.

According to claims made in the Daily Mail, Odemwingie is embroiled in a legal dispute with Rob Segal, who represented him in that September 2013 move, over the payment of agents’ fees.

Odemwingie’s subsequent January move to Stoke City is also part of the dispute.

The issue is now heading for an FA tribunal.

West Brom have yet to comment on the matter but there is absolutely no suggestion of any wrongdoing on their part.

Odemwingie was part of the Nigeria squad that lost to France at the second-round stage of the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

The forward, who scored Super Eagles’ only goal in the victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina at the group stage in Brazil, has been capped 65 times for Nigeria.
