Peter Ogaba, former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles player, is dead.

One of his closed friends confirmed this to TheCable, saying he died on Friday after a brief illness.

“Peter Ogaba was found dead in his room this morning,” he said.

“He has been sick for a while. His door had to be broken down to gain entrance into his room.

“It is indeed sad that we have lost another great footballer in Nigeria.”

Ogaba was the youngest player at the U17 and U20 World Cups in Canada (1987), and Saudi Arabia (1989).

He was also the coach of Lobi Stars, between 2006 and 2009.
