The Ogun state government has asked the contractor handling the constituency project of Gbenga Daniel on Paddy-Arikawe Oye Igbimo road in Sagamu, to provide necessary details for approval.
The project, facilitated by Daniel, the senator representing Ogun east senatorial district, is being handled by Minim and Tonye Nigeria Limited.
The state government had reportedly asked the contractor to stop the rehabilitation work on the road for failing to obtain approval.
Owing to the development, the contractor approached the state government with some documents pertaining to the project to seek approval.

In a letter dated September 22 and addressed to the managing director of Minim and Tonye Nigeria Limited, the state government acknowledged the receipt of some documents from the contractor.
The documents are the notification of award letter for the rehabilitation of the road from the Border Communities Development Agency, unpriced bill for the project, and cross sectional and drainage drawings for the road project.
The state government said the contractor did not specify the total stretch of the 3km road to be constructed since the project is divided into four phases.

The state government asked the contractor to “provide the list of engineering materials and the material testing for the quality assurance of the work”.
The state government recommended that the contractor should use 220m thick reinforced concrete pavement of not less than grade 35 concrete, preferably grade 40 concrete, instead of the 150m concrete thick pavement of grade 20 that it had proposed.
The letter was signed by Yusuf I.O, permanent secretary of the Ogun state ministry of works & infrastructure.
“You are required to provide the full layout with elevation and grades. Also to be provided is the concrete pavement details with reinforcement details and at the joints,” the letter reads.

“Cross slope should be 2.5% as per the design criteria. You are to also provide the list of Engineering materials and the material testing for the quality assurance of the work.
“You should not forget to include your design criteria and code when you are re-presenting your drawings to reflect our observations.
“Please refer to the Federal Ministry of Works (FMW) Standard Specifications for ease of reference.
“Nevertheless, we have attached Typical Drain and Culvert Reinforcement Details, as well as the list of tests to be carried out during the execution of the project.

“We look forward to your compliance and cooperation in this regard.”
