Oladapo, Ikefe, Sane… TheCable’s NPFL team of the week
With MFM FC fighting back to beat Kano Pillars and Lobi Stars maintaining their title ambition, TheCable selects the team of the week in a 4-3-3 formation.
Chinedu Anozie – Plateau United
Anozie was brilliant for Plateau United as they drew against Dakkada at the Nest of Champions. He capped an individual display with a late penalty save.
Tope Olusesi – Rangers
The full back provided an outlet for Rangers to attack despite playing from the back. He put up a spectacular performance.
Andrew Ikefe – Plateau United
Plateau United’s general at the back protected his territory with a solid display.
Pape Ousmane Sane – Rangers
The veteran doesn’t slow down with age. Sane marshalled the Rangers back line with precision at Akwa United.
Adeyinka Najeem – MFM FC
The left footer often give joy. Najeem was a bundle of trouble for Kano Pillars as he attacked their barricade till he brought them down.
Anthony Omaka – Sunshine Stars
Omaka has made the team of the week on countless occasions. He deserves his place once again based on the eye-catching performance against FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
Tony Shimaga – Rangers
The gifted midfielder gave out a disciplined and cultured performance in the draw at the Nest of Champions on Sunday.
Austine Oladapo – Enyimba
Based on current form, Oladapo appears to be the best attacking midfielder in the NPFL. He scored a sumptuous free kick in the Abia Derby.
Kabir Balogun – MFM FC
Balogun’s effort was rewarded with the leveller in the win over Kano Pillars. He played the game with all his heart.
Clement Ogwu – MFM FC
Clement Ogwu was thrown into the fray as a substitute and he delivered the goods with a brace.
Joseph Atule – Katsina United
Breathtaking performance, a goal and man of the match award. Atule was the tormentor in chief for Katsina United against Warri Wolves.
