Olamide Adedeji, YBNL boss, and Mavin boss, Don Jazzy, made up on Sunday, over the drama both parties put up at the 2015 Headies, hosted on the first day of 2016.
Both music don took to their instagram and Twitter accounts to put up same post, and a picture of their newly-found unity, apologising to their fans over the row.
They put up the same post at about the same time – around 9:23pm – on Sunday evening.
“We are very Sorry for the wahala make una no vex oh. It is our responsibility to lead but then again we are only human and we all make mistakes! #WeAreSorryHeadies #WeAreSorryFans #PeaceAndUnity #SMD #YBNL #OneLagos #OneNigeria,” Olamide wrote.
Don Jazzy’s post was obviously the same, save for spelling and capitalisation, which differed slightly.
“We are very sorry for the wahala. Make una no vex ooo. It is our responsibility to lead but then again we re only human and we all make mistakes. #WeAreSorryHeadies #WeAreSorryFans #PeaceAndUnity #YBNL #SMD #OneLagos #OneNigeria,” he wrote.
The YBNL/ Mavin row started after YBNL act, Lil Kesh, was nominated alongside Mavin’s Reekado Banks for the next rated act of the year, but the award was presented to the later.
Olamide’s team found the decision of the organisers wrong and they had the opportunity to show it when another YBNL act, Adekunle Gold, won best alternative music with his song Sade.
Olamide said the award for the next rated category belonged to Lil Kesh, blasting the organisers for the outcome. He dropped the microphone, threw his drink and cap on stage as his crew walked out.
Don Jazzy was immediately called up to receive special recognition award for his role in the industry.
While appreciating the organisers for the award, emotional Don Jazzy said “Oga Olamide, if you want the car (that comes with the next rated category) come and take it”.
This led to very angry tweets from Olamide, which have now been deleted by the indigenous rapper, who was crowned the artiste of the year.
Lil Kesh and Reekado Banks are also having it smooth, as they also made up on Twitter earlier than Don Jazzy and Olamide.
