Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has called up Efe Ambrose of Celtic for October’s international friendly games against DR Congo and Cameroon, following the injury to Kenneth Omeruo.

Ambrose has been a bit-part player for the national team especially during the latter stages of Stephen Keshi’s reign as coach. He was also left out of the team by Sunday Oliseh in his first two games as coach.

But according to the Twitter handle of Nigeria Football Federation Ambrose has been invited to replace Omeruo who came off for Vasil Bozhikov just nine minutes into Kasimpasa’s 1-1 home draw against Rizespor on Monday night because of injury.

“Sunday Oliseh has called up Celtic FC Efe Ambrose in place of injured Kenneth Omeruo for October friendlies,” the NFF wrote.

Ambrose, who can play at centre-back and at right-back, has 42 caps for Nigeria since making his debut in 2011.
