Olutoyin Olakunrin, former ETF chairman, is dead

Olutoyin Olusola Olakunrin, a former chairman of the Education Trust Fund, is dead.

According to PUNCH, she died on Sunday after slumping during a church service. She attends St Paul Anglican Church, Breadfruit, Lagos.

Olakunrin, 80, was the mother-in-law of Segun Agbaje, managing director of GT Bank.

Olakunrin was said to be Nigeria’s first female chartered accountant and a former president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

She also served as president of the Society of Women Accountants in Nigeria (SWAN) and was the first female president of the Institute of Directors (Nigeria).

Olakunri was a member of the constituent assembly that came up with the 1979 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
