Ogenyi Onazi will not feature for the Super Eagles in the Africa Cup of Nation qualifier (AFCON) against Libya due to an achilles injury.
Super Eagles technical adviser Gernot Rohr disclosed this to TheCable on Friday.
Rohr said Onazi got injured during a closed-door training the Eagles had on Thursday.
“He is injured,” Rohr told TheCable.
“He won’t be able to play against Libya tomorrow. He’s got achilles problem.”
The Trabzonspor midfielder was not in the team’s training session on Friday.
This will not be the first time Onazi will be missing a vital Super Eagles game. In the past few years, the midfielder has been absent in key games due to injuries.
The Super Eagles will play against the Mediterranean Knights at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday.
