The national working committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has fixed April 8 for the ward congress in Ondo ahead of the state’s governorship election.
Debo Ologunagba, national publicity secretary of PDP, said in a statement on Saturday, that the NWC has approved the constitution of a ward congress electoral committee.
Ologunagba said the five-member electoral committee will conduct the three-man ad hoc ward congress to elect three ad hoc delegates per ward.
He noted that one of the delegates to be elected in each of the 203 wards of Ondo must be a woman.
The PDP spokesperson said Abba Moro, the senate minority leader, is the chairman of the electoral committee while Nheoma Ndu is the secretary.
Issaiah Makinde, David Vaughan, and Tom Zakari are committee members.
The governorship election in Ondo is scheduled to be held on November 16.
