Ondo guber: Wale Akinterinwa suspends political activities over Akintelure’s death

Wale Akinterinwa, former commissioner for finance and a governorship aspirant in Ondo, has announced the suspension of his campaign activities following the death of Paul Akintelure.

Akintelure, a governorship hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), died in the early hours of Tuesday, March 26.

In a statement by Segun Ajiboye, his campaign spokesperson, Akinterinwa, who is also vying to be governor of Ondo on the APC platform, said he “is saddened by the news of the passing of a friend and comrade”.

The former commissioner had scheduled to commence his political activities, ahead of the APC primary, with praise worship at his Ile-Oluji country home.

“Following this sad incident, I have decided to suspend all political activities of our campaign organisation,” the statement reads.

“I pray God to console his family, friends and the APC in Ondo state and to give them the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
