One person has reportedly been injured after suspected ISWAP terrorists detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) at the entrance of Wulgo town in Ngala LGA of Borno state.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the first explosion occurred at about 9:30 am on Monday.
Makama noted that the incident happened when one Sani Audu of Hausari ward, in Gamboru-Ngala, stepped on an IED while on his way to Wulgo.
Citing sources, the publication said that the victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, while troops visited the scene to conduct a thorough search for secondary explosive devices, and declared the zone safe for public use.

Makama noted that at about 1:14 pm, another IED explosion occurred, destroying the Abari bridge along Wulgo road, connecting Gamboru and Wulgo town.
The publication said the attack is believed to be part of a deliberate campaign by insurgents to disrupt civilian movement and hamper military operations in the area.
Makama added that there were no additional explosive devices found, as security presence has been restored to monitor the area.
