Sand Eagles captain Olawale Isiaka has attributed the team’s early exit from the Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas to shoddy preparations.

Isiaka, who said he had taken the team’s ouster in “good faith”, noted that the team was not properly motivated.

“What do you expect from Badagry to the Bahamas after a week preparation? To win the World Cup?” Isiaka asked.

“We can blame it on what everybody knows our level of preparation.

“It is so painful that we are going out of the tournament this early but we take it in good faith.

“We fought hard to try and win the game but you know that penalty is a game of anybody. As a Muslim, I have taken it in good faith.”

The El-Kanemi Warriors player also said it was high time Nigeria established a beach soccer league.

“As it is now, beach soccer league has to be introduced in Nigeria for better preparation for us in the future,” he said. “The Super Sand Eagles also need better motivation than we get now.”
