Victor Osimhen has been listed among the final three nominees for the 2025 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.

Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi and Mohammed Salah of Egypt are the other players on the list.

Osimhen won the award in 2023. He was instrumental for Galatasaray last season, scoring 26 league goals to help the club clinch the title. His performance propelled Galatasaray to break the Turkish transfer record of €75 million to sign him permanently from Napoli.
The striker was also key in securing Nigeria’s attempt to reach the 2026 World Cup. He scored eight goals in the qualification group stages and the playoffs.
Earlier, Rasheedat Ajibade was also a finalist for the 2025 CAF Women’s Player of the Year award.
Chiamaka Nnadozie also made the final shortlist for the Goalkeeper of the Year prize.

Nigeria’s Moshood Shakirat made the final cut for the women’s Best Young Player prize.
