Victor Osimhen scored twice in Galatasaray’s 3-1 victory over Bodo/Glimt in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) preliminary round clash.

The 26-year-old striker scored two first-half goals as Galatasaray secured their second UCL victory of the season at the RAMS Park on Wednesday.

Osimhen was also the lone goal scorer when the club stunned Liverpool in their previous UCL game.

Against Bodo, the Super Eagles’ goal poacher wasted little time making his impact felt. After just three minutes, he was running into the opponent’s box off a pass from Mario Lemina. Osimhen then stroked the ball past Nikita Khaikin for the game’s first goal.

Thirty minutes later, he added his second. He profited from a defensive mix-up and helped himself to a brilliant brace.

In the second half, Osimhen’s industry created the chance that led to Galatasaray’s third goal. He hassled the ball off a defender, setting up Yunus Akgun.

The Turkish winger had his first attempt saved, but he scored with his second swipe.

The man of the match performance from Osimhen came just a few hours after he was shortlisted for the 2025 CAF men’s player of the year prize.

He had previously won the award in 2023.
