A late Olamilekan Adedayo strike sealed three points for Remo Stars, and with it, an unassailable 10-point lead over second-placed Rivers United.
The triumphant team celebrated wildly with fans on a day Kunle Soname, the club chairman, celebrated his birthday.
The triumph has spurred multiple congratulatory messages from within and outside the Nigerian football fraternity. President Bola Tinubu also congratulated the team, adding that they should replicate the form on the continent.

The NPFL triumph is Remo Stars’ first major title since the club’s creation in 2010.
The club has placed second in the past two seasons, but has now become the first privately owned club to win the NPFL title since Ocean Boys in 2006.
The Sky Blues are also the first club from the south-west region of the country to win the title in 25 years, emulating defunct Julius Berger.
Remo Stars will be presented with the NPFL trophy during their home league match against Ikorodu City FC on Sunday, May 5.
