Osun election: PDP candidate sweeps own polling unit but APC escapes with four votes

While Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Osun  west senatorial by-election, secured a landslide victory at his polling unit, Mudashiru Hussain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) managed to poll four votes ahead of his opponent.

The result of unit 2, ward 9 in Ede north local government, where Adeleke cast his ballot, showed he had a total of 155 votes ahead of his opponent who secured just six votes, leaving a gap of 149 votes.

But at unit 1, ward 3, Ejigbo local government where Hussain voted, APC had 152, while PDP trailed with 148, making a difference of four.

As of the time this report was filed, the PDP candidate was leading in Egbedore and Iwo – two of the 10 local government areas in the senatorial district.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are still collating the results of the election at Baptist High School, Iwo.
