The Osun state chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union Of Nigeria (JUSUN) has declared a three-day warning strike over “unpaid entitlements”.
The entitlements include arrears of imprest, statutory allowances dating back to 2015, unaddressed promotions, and unpaid benefits for 2024 and 2025.
In a statement on Wednesday, Idris Adeniran, JUSUN chairman in Osun, said the strike is to compel the Judiciary Service Commission (JSC) to act.
He said the state government has failed to implement the memorandum of agreement (MoA) previously signed with the union.

“Resuming the suspended strike may prompt meaningful dialogue since the state government has not implemented the memorandum of agreement signed,” Adeniran said.
“We appeal to all stakeholders in the judiciary to support JUSUN in this matter for swift action.
“The judiciary’s role as the last hope of the common man cannot be fulfilled without motivated staff members and adequate resources.”

The union demanded urgent intervention from the JSC to address pending promotions, restore allowance payments, and sponsor staff training.
Other demands include the provision of official and utility vehicles to improve service delivery.
On June 4, JUSUN suspended a previous strike after a series of meetings with representatives of Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), and other stakeholders.
At the time, the union said the suspension followed lengthy deliberations on the unresolved issues.

JUSUN is also pushing for the implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage and its arrears, a 25 to 35 percent salary increase, and the settlement of wage award arrears.
