The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says 509,929 Nigerians have completed their voter registration process.
Sam Olumekun, INEC national commissioner and chairman, information and voter education committee, announced the updated figures in a statement on Monday.
Olumekun said the figure combines online pre-registration, completed in-person, and entirely in-person registration as of September 12.
The online pre-registration began on August 18, while the in-person registration commenced on August 25.

The INEC commissioner said 229,758 (45.06 percent) of the newly registered voters are male and 280,171 (54.94 percent) are female.
In terms of age and occupation, 378,132 (74.15 per cent) are young people between the ages of 18 and 34, while 196,529 (38.54 per cent) are students.
Further data provided by the commission shows that Osun state leads with the highest number of completed registrations (60,531), followed by Lagos (33,975) and Borno (28,586).

For online pre-registration, Olumekun said as of September 14, 2025, a total of 4,445,505 Nigerians have pre-registered online.
The commissioner said 2,141,294 (48.17 percent) are male and 2,304,211 (51.83 percent) are female.
In terms of age and occupation, the majority 2,924,643 (65.79 percent) are between the ages of 18 and 34 while 1,112,344 (25.02 perecnt) are students.
With regards to geographic location, Osun leads in online pre-registrations with 552,045, followed by Lagos with 488,523 an Borno with 439,426.

“The detailed distribution of both online and completed registrations by state, gender, age, occupation and disability have been uploaded to our website and other official platforms for public information,” the statement reads.
FCT WARD-LEVEL REGISTRATION
Olumekun said the online voter pre-registration in the federal capital territory (FCT) ends today, September 15, 2025. And for the next two weeks, the physical (in-person) option will be at the designated venues.
“Thereafter, the Commission will devolve the registration to all the 62 Wards in the FCT from 29th September to 8th October 2025. Detailed addresses of the centres have already been uploaded to our official platforms,” the statement reads.
