Najeem Salaam, speaker of the Osun state house of assembly, has tasked security agencies to do more in preventing killing of university of Osun students.

In a statement, Goke Butika, his chief press secretary, said the speaker gave the charge in the wake of the killing of Oluwafemi Shonibare, a student.

He asked the state ministry of justice to move in and ensure the delivery of justice to the deceased and his parents.

Salaam said the state could not allow men and women of wicked intention to hold sway in a university environment.

He said it was saddening that parents in the state were mourning over the murder of a promising young man who came to the university to pursue his future.
