Alex Otti, governor of Abia; Monday Okpebholo of Edo; Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti; and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta were among prominent Nigerians who attended the birthday celebration of Hope Uzodimma’s twin daughters, Sandra and Sophie.
The event, which also featured a book launch and a high-fashion runway show, highlighted the twins’ contributions to maternal health and fashion.
Sandra Uzodimma unveiled her book, ‘Postpartum and Beyond,’ which analyses the critical issues of postpartum and maternal health in Africa.

Sandra also explored how religious beliefs influence attitudes towards postpartum care, advocating for a holistic approach that integrates faith and medical practices.
“This book is borne out of my personal experiences, which shaped my perspectives and my quest for awareness creation to help women who are undergoing postpartum depression,” she said.
She also highlighted the societal struggle with postpartum depression in the African context and the need to start a conversation about it.

During a panel discussion moderated by Adaora Sydney Jack, a broadcaster and gender inclusivity advocate, the panelists praised Sandra’s courage and the book’s focus on the often-neglected topic of postpartum depression in African society.
They attributed the lack of attention to the issue to its complexities, insufficient advocacy, and cultural misinformation.
Sophie Nkem Uzodinma, her twin sister and founder of the VOWE Foundation, launched the CURVE fashion runway show.
The celebration concluded with the twins cutting their birthday cake, surrounded by their father, Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo; their mother, Chioma Uzodimma; and other dignitaries, family, and friends.
