The build-up to the 2023 elections has brought with it a first-of-its-kind attention for Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra, considering the support he has gained from the the “Obidient Movement”, a term coined from his name to represent a people that have pledged allegiance to his presidential ambition.

The emergence and popularity of the movement have got people wondering if it will, perhaps, be a “third force” against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Some argue that this uproar is merely social media brouhaha, while others are of the opinion that the movement has what it takes to rock the boats of the APC and PDP come 2023, and even stands a great chance of unseating the ruling party.
