More than 2,000 delegates are expected to attend the second edition of the Lagos international fire safety conference (LIFSC), scheduled to be held from August 12 to 14.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Lagos state fire and rescue service said the conference, themed “Leveraging technology and community engagement to prevent fires”, will feature fire drills, policy discussions, live demonstrations, and exhibitions of modern fire safety tools to address the state’s recurring fire outbreaks.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, is also billed to open the three-day conference with a keynote address.
Gbenga Oyerinde, commissioner for special duties, said the initiative aligns with the public order and safety pillar of the governor’s THEMES+ agenda.
