Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, has advised President Bola Tinubu and heads of security agencies to clamp down on sponsors of terrorism.

Speaking to journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye highlighted the urgency of addressing the recent deadly attacks in Benue and Plateau states, describing them as “pathetic and unacceptable”.

The former federal lawmaker reiterated the need to sever the supply lines that sustain banditry and insurgency.

He said cutting off access to food and ammunition is essential to effectively combating security threats.

“The point is that to effectively combat insecurity in the country, it is important to target the individuals and entities that are bankrolling criminal activities and insurgencies,” he said.

“This, however, requires a multifaceted approach, including strengthening intelligence gathering and analysis, implementing robust anti-corruption measures, and fostering international cooperation to disrupt financial flows.”

Oyintiloye challenged security agencies to enhance their efforts in identifying and apprehending those who supply weapons, operational vehicles, and hard drugs to bandits.

“There is no doubt that the security agencies are doing their best and the result of their efforts is glaring for all to see but more needs to be done in exposing the sponsors of this evil act,” he added.
