The Oyo state government has launched a donation portal to solicit funds for victims of the explosion in Ibadan, the state capital.

The development was posted on the state’s official X handle on Wednesday.

In the post, the state government said the donations would go to “Dejo Oyelese Landlords/Residents Association” while it would work with its leadership to ensure accountability.

“You can now support victims of the Bodija Incident directly by donating via this link emergencysupport.oyostate.gov.ng,” the post reads.

“All donations go directly to the Bank account of Dejo Oyelese Landlords/Residents Association while Oyo State Government will work with the leadership of the association to ensure accountability and active participation of all affected in the disbursement of the donations.

“As Yorubas and indeed Nigerians, we believe in the power of community and the strength of unity. This donation portal is provided by the Oyo State Government as a service to victims directly affected by the Ibadan explosion disaster.”

“This is the time to rebuild the communities affected by Ibadan Explosion”.

On Sunday, Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo, said operations on the ground of the blast have moved to the recovery stage.

The governor added that structural integrity tests are being carried out on about 230 properties around the site of the explosion.
