Oyo speaker leads Nigerian delegation on metaverse, AI course in China

Adebo Ogundoyin, speaker of the Oyo state house of assembly and chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria (CSSLN), led a delegation of the conference on a two-week course on metaverse technology in China.

The programme, organised by the International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders (CIFAL) in Shanghai, China, focused on the development trends of metaverse technology and the role of generative AI in digital innovation.

Chinese university professors and technology experts facilitated the academic sessions, while the delegation also visited tech hubs in Shanghai and Chengdu, including China Unicom, SPSpace, and Zhisheng Digital Technology.

Ogundoyin described the training as “timely and transformative”, adding that exposure to emerging technologies such as the metaverse and artificial intelligence (AI) would be critical to shaping governance, education, communication, and public service delivery in Nigeria.
