Panic as explosion rocks Kaduna community

There was panic in Kabala west area of Kaduna south LGA, following an explosion which occurred in the community.

According to NAN, the explosion is suspected to be from an improvised explosive device (IED).

Recently, cases of explosions have been recorded in parts of the country.

TheCable had recently reported how a bomb planted in Galadima Kogo community in Niger state exploded, killing 10 persons, including security operatives, during an attack by gunmen.

Speaking on the explosion in Kaduna, Mohammed Jalige, police spokesperson in the state, said the incident happened on Sunday night.

Jalige said no casualty was recorded as there was nobody at the scene of the explosion.

“The explosion is suspected to be from an IED. There was no casualty recorded in the incident. There was nobody in the building when it exploded. It happened on Sunday around 21:45pm,” he said.

“The anti-bomb squad has been deployed to the scene to analyse the particles we got from the place.”

He added that the police will make details of the findings about the incident available once investigations are completed.
