Debo Ologunagba, PDP spokesperson
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it has not taken any official position on the opposition coalition.
On Wednesday, opposition leaders formally adopted the African Democratic Party (ADC) as their platform for the 2027 general election.
Many PDP chieftains, including Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa; Atiku Abubakar, the former vice-president; Aminu Tambuwal, former governor of Sokoto; and, Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation magazine; among others, have joined the coalition.
They also asked “well-meaning” PDP members to join the coalition.

“Our Party is currently working conscientiously towards a successful National Convention which will further revamp and reposition the PDP for the task ahead,” he said.
“Nevertheless, as a major opposition Party with very strong presence and bond with Nigerians across the country, the PDP restates that it remains open to working with other well-meaning like-minded citizens in the collective effort to rescue our nation from the stranglehold of the rudderless and insensitive All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration.”
