PDP chieftain abducted in Adamawa

Gunmen abducted Emmanuel Agiso, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa state, on Monday.

Tyros Agiso, his younger brother, confirmed the kidnap to TheCable in Yola, the state capital.

Agiso said his brother was abducted in the presence of his wife around 1am on Monday.

He said the attackers stormed the residence of the PDP chieftai in Girei local government areas, few kilometers from the state capital.

“Although they were well armed, they did not hurt anybody. They only carted away Chief’s wife mobile telephones and left chief’s mobile telephones behind,” he said.

Agiso said he believed that the abductors left the victim’s mobile telephones behind to use as a medium to demand ransom.

Agiso said the family of the abductee has reported the incident to Girei police station.

The victim retired as a director in the state ministry of finance. He is an ally of Ahmadu Fintiri, governorship candidate of the PDP in the state.
