PDP extends deadline for submission of national convention nomination forms indefinitely

Debo Ologunagba, PDP spokesperson

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has indefinitely extended the deadline for the submission of nomination and expression of interest forms.

Debo Ologunagba, secretary of the publicity sub-committee of the national convention organising committee (NCOC), announced the extension in a statement issued in Abuja.

He said the initial deadline of September 26 has been set aside, and a new date will be made public once decided.

Ologunagba added that the screening of aspirants, earlier fixed for September 30, has also been postponed.

He added that the extension was to allow smooth preparations for the exercise.

“The new dates will be communicated in due course, and aspirants are advised to take note and be guided accordingly,” he said.

The party’s national elective convention is scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan.

The committee is mandated to oversee arrangements for the convention and ensure a hitch-free national event.

Members of the committee include Adolphus Wabara (BoT chairman), Umar Iliya Damagum (acting PDP chairman), Taofeek Arapaja (deputy national chairman, south), Samuel Anyawu (national secretary), Namadi Sambo (former vice-president), Bala Muhammed (governor of Bauchi), Seyi Makinde (governor of Oyo), and Douye Diri (governor of Bayelsa).
