Five people died, while 13 others sustained injuries, after a tanker exploded in Ikeja, Lagos state, on Thursday.

The explosion was said to have been caused by a leakage while the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker was in motion.

The injured persons are currently receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

No fewer than 25 vehicles were also burnt in the incident.
