Chike Akunyili, husband to the late Dora Akunyili, ex-minister of information and communication, has been laid to rest in Agulu, Anambra state.

A requiem mass was held in his honor at Madonna Catholic church in Agulu, his hometown.

Akunyili was killed alongside his police escort and Aloysius, identified as his driver.
